Investing in Leaders Who Shape Children’s Lives

Every day, leaders across Health and Social Care make decisions that influence the experiences of children and young people.

They create cultures.

Support teams.

Navigate complexity.

Respond to crises.

Champion good practice.

Hold difficult conversations.

Inspire others.

Yet many tell us the same thing:

“I was promoted because I was a good practitioner, but nobody ever taught me how to lead.”

At Roots & Wings Social Care, we believe leadership is one of the greatest influences on organisational culture—and culture shapes the experiences and outcomes of the children and families we support.

That’s why, for the first time, we’re opening our CPD Accredited Trauma-Informed Leadership Programme to individual professionals and smaller organisations.

Previously available only as an in-house programme for organisations, this three-day programme has been designed to give leaders the confidence, practical skills and psychological insight to create environments where people can flourish and outstanding practice can thrive.

About Roots & Wings Social Care

Roots and Wings Social Care

Roots & Wings Social Care is a specialist consultancy supporting organisations across the UK through leadership development, coaching, reflective supervision, consultancy and CPD-accredited training.

Founded by Arlene Kyle, a Coaching Psychologist with more than 25 years’ experience in Health and Social Care, our work is grounded in a simple belief:

When we invest in leaders, we strengthen teams. When teams thrive, children and young people experience safer relationships, better care and improved outcomes.

Our approach combines operational leadership experience, coaching psychology, trauma-informed practice and evidence-informed leadership to help organisations move beyond firefighting and create psychologically safe, reflective cultures.

Only 12 places are available.

“Throughout my career I’ve met countless leaders who care deeply about the people they lead. They are compassionate, committed and incredibly hardworking. Yet so many have told me they were promoted because they were excellent practitioners, not because they’d been taught how to lead.

I created this programme because I believe leadership can be learned. Every leader deserves the opportunity to develop the confidence, self-awareness and practical skills to create workplaces where people feel psychologically safe, valued and able to thrive. Ultimately, when we invest in our leaders, we’re investing in better outcomes for children and young people”.   Arlene Kyle
